- Features a clerk training mode that accumulates its own non-resettable grand total. Clerks are able to practice virtually all operations including simulated reporting procedures and till balancing.
- In addition to accountability totals, the clerk file contains the following information for each clerk:
- Clerk number
- Clerk name
- Secret log-in password
- Coded flags to allow or disallow drawer opening, returns, voids and price changes.
- Items are registered by scanning their UPC codes (optional scanner required) or by key- entering their 5-digit master codes.
- File maintenance is keyed to the 5-digit master codes and it updates all associated UPC’s.
- An unlimited number of item price changes can be pre-entered into the price pending file for subsequent batch update to the master file at a pre-designated time. These changes can be input electronically from a modem or diskette or they may be manually key-entered.
- Promotional prices for pass-through and other special items can be pre-entered along with the promotion’s starting and ending dates. Each affected item’s price is automatically changed to the promotional price on the starting date and reverts to the regular price on the ending date.
- An unlimited number of UPC’s may be associated with each 5-digit master code.
- Any UPC not on file may be added “on the fly” and associated to a 5-digit master code without exiting a transaction.
- Each item registered updates the item’s master record and independently resettable department, sub-department and class fields in bottle as well as dollar sales.
- Online inquiry function is available which displays an item’s description, retail price, inventory on hand (NXgen POSSix© Inventory Control software option required) and period-to-date sales.
- An entire transaction may be voided (under management control) by one key stroke.
- An “electronic journal” of transaction detail is captured which can be sorted and displayed or printed on demand for a particular clerk, date or range of transaction numbers.PLU and “electronic journal’ files have no size restrictions and can expand dynamically as needed without intervention by a programmer or technician.
- The system allows the clerk to enter the birth date and driver’s license number of a customer. It captures this data in the “electronic” journal, computes the age of the customer and triggers a visual message and an audible alert if the customer is underage.
- As sales are registered, volume totals are accumulated that trigger the signaling by audible tone and visual alert when a transportation permit is required. The permit may then be printed.
